Allotment Open Day

Allotment Open Day
Tuesday, 30th August 2011

We recently held an open day at our allotments, Service users ran the coffee morning and served members of the public with their orders with support from staff.

"We were very busy all day and we enjoyed taking orders and interacting with the public" Cath Finlinson.

"Never stopped making coffee and tea, but had a good day" Neil Greener

"Constant, we never stopped serving the orders and enjoyed talking to others" Craig Oxlee

Service users also enjoyed working on the tombola stall selling the tickets and looking for the prizes that were won.  There was also a vegetable stall which was donated by the allotment committee.  Everybody had a great day and we were all very busy as plenty of parents, carers, service users and staff came to support us.  Thank you.

Swimming Gala
29/07/2011
We held our first ever swimming gala at Newton Aycliffe Leisure Centre and a fun day was had by all that attended. The participants experienced fun activities such as water aerobics, water polo, swimming races, relaxation and free play. These activities are aimed at increasing confidence in the water as well as improving general fitness, flexibility and also having fun with friends. It was such a success that we aim to have several more galas in the future.
